The little old womam

 WALT write a character description.

The little old woman.

 As I look in the mirror all I see is an old haggard wrinkly lady with purple ripped scarf and broken red glasses. I was looking for some valuable things. There were lots of boxes. I searched in one of the boxes and I saw a yellow broken umbrella so I grabbed it. I still was looking for something. When I searched around I saw lots of cans. When I went there I got the broken can. I searched in a box and I found three plastic birds as I searched around and I saw a car. I hopped in the car and I found an air freshener so I had a little sniff. It smelled like a tree. When I laid back then the chair broke. I felt something at the back of me so I turned at the back and I saw a wood box. When I opened it I saw a  shiny, valuable, sparkly diamond ring. I brought all that stuff I got to the tent and put all the stuff down decorated the house and it was perfect. I sat on the chair and went to sleep.

The impact of climate change

WALT explains how climate change affects our environment in Aotearoa.

I am going to talk about how climate change affects aotearoa. What is climate change? Climate change is when the weather changes a lot.This could affect our environment by getting too hot or too cold. I will be explaining how climate change is affecting our environment. 

Most places in New Zealand receive over 2000 hours of sunshine a year.  For example if it gets too hot the plants will die and so will the animals. We can reduce the problem by preparing for the hot sun and getting more water. I think this is terrible because all the plants will die and the water will go away then everyone will be dehydrated. The plants die from too much smoke or too much heat. For example when it is too hot the plants will die and when it is too cold the plants will freeze. We can reduce the problem by finding other places to put your plants. I think this is bad because all vegetables will die. The water impacts our environment consumption and water stress is manifold. For example when the water evaporates the sea level will go lower and lower. we can reduce the problem by making more droughts. I think this is sad because all of our seafood or sea animals will die and the sea will get dirt and pollution. The weather impacts our environment Warmer temperatures can also lead to a chain reaction of other changes around the world. For example They also provide Special Weather Statements and Short and Long Term Forecasts. we can reduce the problem by although we can’t reduce how the weather is, we can prepare for weather changes. All energy sources have some impact on our environment. Fossil fuels coal, oil, and natural gas. renewable sources such as wind, solar, geothermal, biomass, and hydro power also have environmental impacts, some of which are significant. We can reduce the problem by recycling and recycling less. 

In conclusion, I feel that climate change is bad because all these problems affect us all. If we can help our environment by changing a few things at a time, this may help Aoteroa last a bit longer.

it’s import on our world    

Pollution 

Pollution is when gases, smoke and chemicals are introduced into the environment in

large doses that makes it harmful for humans. Pollution is harmful to people because

if you burn plastic the toxicness will go into your lungs.

There are two things that I am talking about that are bad for earth, the first thing I am

talking about is cutting down trees and the second is plastic.

Firstly, I think plastic is a problem because animals might think that plastic is

food and eat it. If they eat the plastic they will die. Then we won’t be able to

eat meat. We will have to eat vegetables. Did you know that 9% of plastic is

recycled, 12% burned, 79% in landfills or the natural environment. Solution:

stop throwing out your plastic and start recycling.   

Secondly why I think cutting down trees is not good because the more trees

we cut down the less oxygen we will have then we will die. Did you know that

trees improve water quality. we should go back to the old days living in caves. 

Lastly, I think cutting down trees, plastic pollution is a problem because with

no trees, the land will heat up and dry out and the dead wood will inevitably

result in enormous wildfires. Solution: plant more trees.  

So in conclusion that is why I think cutting down trees and plastic is not good

for the world. People around the world have caused the

plastic problem we face today and it cannot

be fixed overnight. The best way to stop

any further harm to wildlife is by changing

how we think about and use plastic.

Some helpful tips are:

 Instead of using plastic items, such

as straws and plastic bags, buy

reusable items, Flasks for hot

drinks and canvas shopping bags.
